Expect the Unexpected at Joyful Arts Studio, Inc.

Yesterday I mailed an awesome upcoming fall schedule to awaken your creativity! I hope you can take advantage of these wonderful opportunities. Come and enjoy a unique and nurturing environment that offers something for everyone. Whether you are looking to explore your own creativity, discover something about yourself or create a one-of-a-kind piece of art, the opportunity will be available to you this fall. This is also a perfect time to learn something new so you can create your own gifts and experience the fulfillment in giving a handmade gift this holiday season.

So, what makes Joyful Arts Studio, Inc., unique as an art studio? To begin with we recognize all kinds of creative projects as art. It has long been a difficult differentiation between defining art versus craft. I believe there is a very fuzzy and gray line between the two words. This is how Dictionary.com defines the two:

Art—the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or more than ordinary significance. Any field using the skills or techniques of art.
Craft—an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill, especially manual skill.

My definition of ART: The creative process of expressionism through the various media available to us, visual arts, written, dance, and music are all forms of expressionism.
I believe you will find all kinds of projects and characteristics at Joyful Arts Studio that will be unexpected. Come to Joyful Arts Studio to expect the unexpected! It is amazing for me to step back and watch these unexpected joys surface.

New on this schedule is five sessions of Art Therapy. I am thrilled we can offer this as my goal as the director of Joyful Arts is to really touch the souls of the people we serve. Art has provided me with many tools to learn more about myself and a productive therapeutic way to express myself.

Also new on this class schedule is Laughter Yoga, another class you probably wouldn’t see offered at most art studios. But as I read the description of Laughter Yoga I feel it aligns perfectly with our mission statement at Joyful Arts.

Another great joy I’ve seen happen at the studio is the development of friendships and camaraderie. For instance, in my Monday evening class, three of the five ladies have their elderly mothers living with them. They can provide each other support and have true understanding of each of others situation.

I’m not sure what your perception of an art studio is, but I think you will expect the expected at Joyful Arts Studio, Inc. We are here to work with those who identify themselves as creative and artistic as well as those who feel they have no talent or creativity. We will guide you through the creative process and help you find joy in creativity! Do not be intimidated by ‘art studio;’ this is a warm welcoming and nurturing environment to learn and grow in creativity.

We hope to see you soon at Joyful Arts Studio and give you the gift of Joy through Art! Please take time to leave a comment on your definition of ART!
